Media Advisory - Task Force to Escort Media to Maritime Event During Unified Support '07 Exercise | |

MIAMI -- Media are invited to ride on a Coast Guard cutter Thursday morning to view the offshore non-compliant vessel simulation during exercise Unified Support '07. There is room for 20 media personnel. The media will be required to pool resources once the total number of people exceeds 20. This is NOT a first-com-first-served basis situation. Media are asked to report to Coast Guard Station Fort Lauderdale, Fla., located at 7000 North Ocean Drive in Dania, Fla., no later than 7 a.m. to depart aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Bluefin by 7:30 a.m. The Coast Guard station is located inside John U. Loyd State Park in Dania Beach, Fla.The off-shore exercise will involve multiple agencies using surface and air assets to dissuade and intercept non-compliant vessels role-played by the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Media should wear appropriate closed-toe shoes (i.e., no high-heels or sandals) while underway and bring sunscreen as needed. Media should anticipate returning to Station Ft. Lauderdale around 11:30 a.m. ### | |
